Crochet Braids + Big Hair

Guys guys, I've finally joined the crotchet braids gang. I spent the past month wearing a wig and my mum and I decided that it was finally time to give the wig a break. I've helped a couple of friends make their own crotchet braids but I never felt like it was for me.

The crochet braids were a last minute decision. I was hesitant about making them because I know installation can get really pricey. Lucky for me, my hairdresser wasn't busy and after my mum bargained on my behalf I only paid N1,200 so I got a pretty good deal.

Once I had secured myself a good deal, I went hunting for hair. Right off the bat, I knew I wasn't interested in anything above 2k cause my wallet isn't big plus, I wasn't even sure I would like it. After a brief stroll around my neighborhood, I realised that of all the types available this was the one for me because it was the only long one and I happen to like long hair. The hair on my head is the Naomi Bloom by expression and it cost N900 (probably less than that to be honest) and I got three packs because I wanted "full" hair. Little did I know that  I would end up in a forest.

The hair initially came twisted together but I didn't like the appearance of them so I opted to untwist them. It is getting a tad bit hard to maintain so I am considering getting them twisted in a couple of weeks. If it's a disaster, then I'm out and I'll just have to look for something else to do. In the mean time, I'll continue to enjoy my braids and enjoy living.

  1. Crochet braids and I were probably created on the same day. I usually install them myself with assistance from whoever is available. I'm a lover of Noble Gold Afro Braid and kinky bulk.

  4. Synthetics hold styling great however changing the style is much more troublesome than it is with the more responsive human hair wigs. lace front bob wigs

    1. so true and I find that synthetic hair and sweat don't go well together. But they're great for short term hairstyles you don't want to commit to
