Mastering Triple Denim

When I think of triple denim, I think of Brittney Spears and Justin Timberlake's 2001 red carpet moment and although I was huge fan of their outfits, I didn't blame the trend per say, because, I don't think you can ever go wrong with basic denim. Then again, we all have our different opinions. Since I graduated, I've been trying to build my wardrobe into something I like. Only problem, to first build you must destroy. So while I sorting my clothes I began to think of ways to revamp my clothes and essentially give them new life. During this process I stumbled on two denim pieces that peaked my interest.

The first, denim three quarters and the other a denim vest. I quickly turned the shorts into a skirt and well I decided to hang my newly acquired mini skirt and vest in front of my wardrobe to inspire some creativity. Unfortunately rather fortunately, I saw the Justin and Brittney and figured, why not try triple denim and somehow, it worked (you might not agree but I like it). Also, quick shout out to the rain for allowing the weather be conducive for such outfits, thanks.

Seeing as I've somehow managed to "master" triple denim I feel like I'm a strong authority in this matter. So, here are my clearly unprofessional tips on how to get away with this trend (not sure what to call it).

Pick a color palette: My main tip is stick to a color wheel so if you're going for a dark look, don't stick entirely to one shade because that can very easily look monotonous and because of the way denim as a material is it could easily look boxy and forced, so I advise that you use different shades in dark wheel to break it up and add depth to the outfit.

All you need is confidence baby: like with any fashion trend, all you have to do is work it.

What are your thoughts on triple denim? Do you like it or do you think its a bit too much?
I'd love to hear from you in the comment section
