My 2018 Bucket List

I'm not one for new years resolutions because procrastination always gets in the way of it. So rather than a bunch of goals like: go to the gym thrice a week, drink ten glasses of water a day and grow by ten inches in four month, I came up with a list of ten things I'd love to do in 2018 and here they are.

EXPLORE LAGOS

One thing I've always wanted to do is travel and see the world. My ideal job would have me constantly travelling the world, visiting exotic locations and stamping pages on my passport. Pending when I get the job or pending when I can afford any real travel. I've decided I might as well start in my own backyard. This year, starting with Lagos, I want to visit new places. Although they might sound small, I want to visit Lufasi Park, Omu resort, Lekki arts market and whole lot more. Lagos might be small in terms of size but it definitely has a lot to offer.

WORK TOWARDS FINANCIAL FREEDOM

This might very well be my biggest goal for the year 2018. I'm well aware the road to financial freedom is long, I'd at least like to have a certain amount of savings by the end of the year. I'm realizing I'm not getting any younger and the earlier I develop a good savings habit and foster a good relationship with money, the better for me in the long run. I've come up with a financial plan and hopefully of it works, I'd be able to share it in about a month or two.

GIVE MODELLING A SHOT

Everywhere I go, someone almost always asks "are you a Model" and there's always a look of disappointment when I say I'm not. Sure, at some point in my life I considered it. Unfortunately, I think the tiny voice I mentioned HERE, that always tells me I can't do something. Somehow convinced me that I'm too short to model. Seeing as I stand at 5'7 I don't think I'm short and even If I am, petite models exist and the modelling industry is more inclusive than even. So, this year, I'm going to model. Be it one photo shoot or one runway, I'm going to model.

COLLABORATE WITH OTHER BLOGGERS

I was going through my blog the other day and I realized that I've never collaborated with any bloggers and I was shocked. Honestly, I wasn't that shocked. This past year I did built relationships and this year I plan on working with a few. I want to capitalize on those friendships and work with bloggers who are not only my friends but are people whose work and work ethic I admire.

RESUME GUITAR LESSONS

One thing few people know about me is that I sing and to some extent, I play the guitar. I'm no where near being an Asa or Ric Hassani but I find that playing music and singing are therapeutic for me. It eases the tension, helps me control my emotions better and I miss having that escape. During my "end of the year clean up". I found my dusty old guitar,  I'm working on cleaning it up, getting new strings, taking a few guitar lessons and you never know, I might just drop a snippet of your girl in action.

ATTEND LAGOS FASHION AND DESIGN WEEK

If you're anything like I am, You're probably tired of seeing Heineken LFDW pictures on your Instagram and at this point you just want to see it in person? If yes, welcome to the team. Although I doubt I'll be able to afford the whole week, I'm pretty sure I can do a day or two. Hopefully plans work out this year and your girl can attend. If I do, be prepared to be flooded and I me FLOODED with pictures

WEAR A BIKINI

In the spirit of body positive movement and living life to the fullest, I want to go to a beach and I want to wear a bikini. There honestly isn't much more to it. I just want to do it.

TRY SUSHI

If you follow me on Snapchat then you I'm constantly trying new things. Either at home or at a restaurant, I'm constantly trying to live a foodies dream. On my list of foods to eat before I die, right next to deep dish pizza and Korean barbeque is Sushi. I'm not sure why haven't tried it but this year, I fully intend to.

KEEP A POTTED PLANT ALIVE

With greenery being a major part of interior decoration these days and with me hating fake plants and me trying to have a more aesthetically pleasing space, I figured, why not grow a plant. Well, a small potted plant at least. I also want a dog and I feel like if I can keep a plant alive, I might be able to keep a dog alive. Before you ask what the correlation is, I'm not sure either but, it makes a little sense to me. So I just might get myself a little cactus or an aloe plant.

How do you feel about new year resolutions?
Do you love 'em? Do you hate 'em?
If you do, what are some of yours? If you don't, I'd love to know why?
Feel free to let me know in the comment section, I'd love to hear from you?

  2. Honestly, I really do not understand the psychology that pushes people into achieving tasks on a bucket list than achieving each year's resolution but I am with you on 'walking towards financial freedom' - huge but not impossible mission and resuming guitar lessons - music is soothing and there's something about the strings. *wink*

    Nice one darling.

    1. We're on the same boat. However, I find that a bucket list is filled with things I want to do but haven't had time to. Unlike a resolution that tends to be occupied with (at least for me) stopping bad habits and in all fairness. Changing things I should change but I don't want to. All in all, Here's to 2018 and trying to secure the bag.

  5. And i think New year resolution is a personal ideology. It works for some it depends on you as an individual. But then i'd rather write out a list of things i'd want to accomplish in a year or monthly

    1. You're definitely, I know someone who actively tracks her resolutions and she really does work towards them. Unfortunately for me, It's not for me and just like you said, I'd rather write a list of things I want to do but I've never really made time for
